Trump Criticizes Norah O'Donnell for Airing Shooter Manifesto Passage on CBS

TRUMP CALLS NORAH O'DONNELL A "DISGRACE" AFTER CBS READS SHOOTER'S MANIFESTO ON-AIR

President Trump confronted CBS News correspondent Norah O'Donnell on "60 Minutes" after she read passages from the alleged manifesto of WHCA dinner shooter Cole Allen — including inflammatory language that appeared to target administration officials. Trump reacted sharply, calling her "horrible people" and a "disgrace" for amplifying the radicalized words of a would-be assassin on national television.

The president forcefully rejected every false allegation contained in the manifesto passage, telling O'Donnell she should be "ashamed" for choosing to air it. When O'Donnell defended herself by noting the words belonged to the gunman, Trump was unmoved — saying she "shouldn't be reading that on 60 Minutes." It was a raw, unfiltered exchange that once again exposed the adversarial posture much of the mainstream media takes toward this president.

"You should be ashamed of yourself reading that, because I'm not any of those things." — President Trump to Norah O'Donnell

Trump Demonstrates Resilience Following Third Attack on His Life

TRUMP DEMONSTRATES RESILIENCE FOLLOWING THIRD ATTACK ON HIS LIFE

Most leaders would retreat to a safe room after surviving their third assassination attempt. Not President Trump. Just two hours after suspect Cole Tomas Allen's attack at the Washington Hilton, a 79-year-old commander-in-chief was holding a press conference — flanked by First Lady Melania and his cabinet — cracking jokes, fielding questions, and already planning his next event. It was a masterclass in composure that no career politician could replicate.

The statistics alone underscore what Trump endures. A staggering 5.8% of American presidents have been assassinated, with 8% having faced gunfire while in office. He knows the risks cold — and keeps showing up anyway. After the press conference, he personally called members of the media to check if they were safe. Not his donors. Not his inner circle. The same press corps whose coverage has helped fuel the very climate that breeds these threats.

"I'm here to do a job. It's very dangerous. I cannot imagine that there is any profession that's more dangerous. But I love the country." — President Trump
